When we think about decorating and adding colour to our homes, the first thought in our mind is to add colours to our walls.
But when it comes to creating beautiful interiors, why not get creative with painted furniture. By using painted and coloured furniture you can inject personality and interest to your homes.
Adding colour can be a scary thing to do with furniture, you may well love that Dresser in bright pink, but it is very costly mistake to make when you purchase and after a few seasons, you hate it or simply are fed up with it, if you do this this with clothes, handbags and shoes, you would do this with furniture..(if you are anything like me!)
Adding Painted furniture in Neutral tones and then bringing in colour with accessories or wall colours is a safe way to start experimenting with adding colour to your home
The furniture above is available on our website http://www.uniquechicfurniture.co.uk
Over recent years Painted Furniture has been very popular in hues of creams, ivories and whites, especially popular in interiors trying to create the very popular ‘Shabby Chic’ look.
Burford Antique White Bedroom Collection and Savannah Cream Dining Furniture are both available on our website

These colours will always be very in trend, however there are a few new ‘Neutral’ colours on the scene , such as greys, truffles, greens and blacks, many of which you may not have considered before but all can be added to your interiors without them being too intrusive and ‘out there’
Here’s some perfect examples, shades of grey and blacks without being too bold, very easy colours to live with and so elegant.
For the new season http://www.uniquechicfurniture.co.uk have new Painted furniture collections for your lounge, dining room and bedroom
Our Portland Painted Bedroom Furniture is painted in Stone Grey and also has Oak tops, which brings warmth to the grey, which can be considered a ‘Cold’ colour. As you can see from the picture, this room looks warm and inviting and anything but cool and dark which is usually how Grey can be perchieved.
Within this collection, there are beds, wardrobes, chests, bedsides, dressing tables and blanket boxes.
Also available on our website http://www.uniquechicfurniture.co.uk
with prices starting from just £99.00
Black painted furniture is also making a come back this season, this was very popular a few years ago, yes it is a dust collector but oh so chic and makes a wonderful statement against a coloured or neutral wall
Here we have ‘Black On Black’ styling using our Maison Demi Lune hallway Table with a pale wall, I think this looks very striking.
Maison French Demi Lune Hallway Table just £225 ~ available on website http://www.uniquechicfurniture.co.uk
Our new Chateau Grey Painted Dining range, shows how elegant painted furniture can be, shown here with white painted walls, I also think that this would lovely with an aqua green colour
Chateau Table and Chairs, shown here in Grey also available in Ivory
Benches, Tables and additional chairs can also be purchased seperately, prices from just £199

I also love this new collection, the Lowa Grey Dining / Lounge Collection, this could be made more contemporary looking by adding stark white and adding pops of red with accessories
Lowa Dining & Kitchen Furniture from just £165 on our website http://www.uniquechicfurniture.co.uk
This season consider thinking just that little bit differently with your colour schemes and add maybe a little drama to your interiors with a slash of black or tread slowly with hues of Grey and Stone, adding colour to your walls.
Whichever colour scheme you decide, think carefully and be sure to consider how it would look in different seasons and with changes of wall colour.
I may well think carefully before changing my furniture and updating my interiors
but with shoes, I am a hopeless cause !
